The Project

Orion have been working with abrdn plc for over 12 years refurbishing their industrial units. This full Design & Build project consisted of some challenging aspects, not least of which was its close proximity to a live railway line (within 10 meters) and subsequent co-ordination with the Utility Company (UK Power Networks). Orion have consistently delivered exceptional work for abdrn plc and are one of their regular contractors.

This £1.1m project included significant structural alterations to the front loading bay, bringing it in line with the front elevation of the unit which has provided an additional 1,280 sq ft of usable space. The previous tenant’s fit out was removed taking the building back to base build, including a single story steel mezzanine floor and racking. Orion then carried out a CAT A fit out which included the design and installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof as well as external repairs and the reconfiguration and resurfacing of the car park and loading areas.

The project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule and within budget, much to the delight of the client team and incoming tenant. UK Power Networks, also provided significant praise for our risk mitigation and competent working practices.
